October 19, 2010 - We welcomed Andy Presti, Partner at Presti & Naegele Accounting Offices who was on hand to answer our tax questions. As a filmmaker, actor, graphic artist or just someone who wants to take charge of their finances, many creative people have little knowledge regarding what they can legally deduct. Can they amortize their Mac? What about using Quicken for Mac? It was surprising how many members were so interested in the art of successful tax planning. Andy had all the answers. We maxed out our meeting time and the conversations continued out the door. Lots of networking too!
September 21, 2010 - We had a “meet-up” at Createasphere Entertainment Technology Expo, talking about what’s new, what’s exciting and what’s in the future.
July 20, 2010 - We started our meeting with more “FREE and FUNCTIONAL!”, demonstrating some FREE computing solutions! Then Matthew Mallinson showed us another fascinating product from NAB, PluralEyes™. PluralEyes™ saves hours in post-production for multi-camera edits, dual-system audio or multi-take workflows such as music videos. It automatically synchronizes all your audio and video clips without the need for timecode, clappers or any special preparation. Our raffle included a copy of PluralEyes™ and donations from DigiEffects and Pond 5. Refreshments courtesy DigiEffects.
May 18th 2010 - We started our meeting with “FREE and FUNCTIONAL!”, demonstrating some creative FREE computing solutions. It was a big hit. Then fresh from NAB and straight from the Adobe Road Show, Eric Zaino of Matrox demoed their line of post-production products. Our raffle included a Matrox MX02 mini, valued at $449!
March 16th 2010 - Paul Ezzy of Boris FX demonstrated Boris Continuum Complete 6, an award-winning collection of visual effects; plug-ins for Adobe, Avid, and Apple editing and compositing systems
November 11th 2009 - We welcomed David Gioiella of Northern Lights for a discussion focusing on his work for USA Networks on Burn Notice - Season 3, which David produced as well as edited using Avid and Genarts Sapphire effects
September 17th 2009 - Our meeting took place at HD Expo, billed as a SUPER SUMMIT , “Integrating the Three A’s - Adobe, Apple, Avid” co-hosted with the Moving Pictures Collective of NYC.
